AllEnvi conference: Biodiversity conservation September 1 to 3, 2021, in Marseille ahead of the World Conservation Congress City center Vieux Port - 2, rue Henri Barbusse, 13001 Marseille
The International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) is organizing the World Conservation Congress. The congress, initially scheduled for June 2020, is now scheduled for September 3-11, 2021 in Marseille.
Prior to this event, the members of the AllEnvi alliance (National Research Alliance for the Environment), are organizing a conference from September 1 to 3, 2021, in Marseille. The event will be organized as an hybrid conference with a mixture of face-to-face, virtual and streaming.
AllEnvi hopes that these days will be an opportunity to mobilize all the scientific communities working on major environmental issues in order to collectively address the theme of “biodiversity conservation” through major cross-cutting and multidisciplinary questions mobilizing the various member institutions and working groups of the Alliance.
These days will be organized around four sessions:
Evolutionary context of biodiversity conservation strategies;
Diversity of types of anthropization and their effects on conservation;
Interactions and feedbacks between climate and biodiversity;
Making explicit the ethical issues in conservation.
A conference on “Biodiversity Conservation and Health” will also be given on September 2 2021 by Serge Morand. The congress will end on the afternoon of September 3 with an interactive closing session, dedicated to governance issues and the place of research for the conservation of biodiversity in the post-Covid world.
